YARI

The Youth at Risk Initiative is flexible in that workers can respond quickly to new and emerging trends, participate with working groups, work collaboratively with a variety of partner agencies, and share resources and information to develop and implement service responses.  We work closely with other youth and community agencies, attending interagency meetings and delivering innovative and effective services to at-risk and disadvantaged young people.

Holiday and School Term-time Programs

Activities provided during all school holidays except Easter Break. School term-time programs include sports and art-based recreational and social activities.

Partner Programs

These include Community Youth Games, Project 11, Youth Connect and other funded projects that run in partnership with local organisations and individuals.

Urban Art Program

We work closely with the local arts community in working to beautify our city with murals in public spaces. The Graffiti Stop project is a new crime prevention initiative in which we work with Queensland Police, the Toowoomba Regional Council and young people to provide art work in public spaces to prevent unsightly illegal graffiti. If you would like assistance in this regard or have a wall that you would like revitalised, please contact the YARI Co-ordinator for more information.
